WATERFALLS.
Visit the two perfect waterfalls that are synonymous with Jarabacoa- and jade pool await at Salto de Baiguate or Jimenoa -cascading down 25 meters (82 feet), tucked below a deep canyon directly to the water cascade and pool for a swim.

HIKING
Pico Duarte is the highest mountain peak in the Caribbean, rising at 3,087 meters (10,125 feet), is reachable in two or three-day excursions depending on the chosen route. Hiking to Pico Duarte is definitely one for the Caribbean traveler’s bucket list!
ECOCAMPING
Jarabacoa, the best place to do “camping” is on the banks of the Yaque del Norte and Jimenoa rivers, popularly known as ‘La Confluencia’ or ‘El Malecón’. It is a seaside resort where many Dominicans and some tourists who like to know the natural beauties of this little corner camp.

Jarabacoa’s nightlife kicks off on Thursday, when locals head to the handful of bars and lounges in the center of town. There are also a few casual spots across from the central park. Out of town, the rotating Jamaca de Dios’s Aroma de la Montaña and the Ribera Country Club are the top choices for fine dining in the mountains with truly spectacular views.
DISCOVER LA VEGA.
Visit the Cathedral Catholic Church, one of the few in the world where the statue of Christ is portrayed as already having resurrected and not dying on the cross. Near Santo Cerro, the holiest sites in the country, discover La Vega Vieja, the archeological ruins of the original town Christopher Columbus founded in 1494.
EXCURSIONS.
Rancho Baiguate provides a challenge for photographers at its Mariposario, or butterfly house with tropical butterflies. Every June, Flower Festival held in the park off La Confluencia Ave. Monte Alto coffee factory offers a tour of its organic coffee production.
